Remnants of Days
These pieces grown out of time spent with my father whilst he has been living with Alzheimer’s. 2024 has been a difficult year for him and collectively for the wider family. It has meant that I have spent more time with him, living with the repetition of moments, minutes and days and how life, questions and conversations would be repeated again and again.
The texture of these days seemed to leave their mark on my work and has resulted in some simple forms in which this texture is evident, perhaps falling away from the body of the clay.
Also in pieces which take their texture from repeating patterns which overlap and are all different despite seeming to be the same at first glance.
